Good morning. My name’s not Sterling, but I’ll get straight to the point. 🥁
This weekend’s a long one, so stock up that fridge, call up some buddies, and ditch work early this Friday. If anyone needs a sick note, just let me know.
Today’s read time: 7 minutes.

The Cottage Kitchen
Dessert or midnight snack, the choice is yours.

Ingredients - Serves 9
0.5 cups cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cups cup granulated sugar
0.3 cups cup cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1 teaspoons tsp vanilla extract
0.5 cups cup all-purpose flour
0.3 teaspoons tsp salt
0.5 cups cup chocolate chips
Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together 0.5 cups cup unsalted butter, melted and 1 cups cup granulated sugar until combined.
Add cocoa, eggs, vanilla: Whisk in 0.3 cups cup cocoa powder, then add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoons tsp vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and glossy.
Fold in 0.5 cups cup all-purpose flour and 0.3 teaspoons tsp salt until just combined, then stir in 0.5 cups cup chocolate chips.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs, not wet batter.
Cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes
Pro tip: For extra fudginess, pull them out when a toothpick still has a few moist crumbs. Great topped with toasted marshmallows for a s'mores twist, or a scoop of ice cream fresh out of the oven.

Gather with Cottage Rules
Your cottage story was written over generations — make sure the next one gets the Coles notes.

Imagine that you’re at trivia night with your family, and as you glance up at the screen to examine the topics, you see one that you’ve been around your entire life, but as the questions start getting asked, your mind goes blank. Please remember, no phones. 📵
How do we prime the pump? What do we always forget at closing? When was the boathouse built? Why does that island have that name? Who knows the trick to starting the old motor?
Cottage Rules turns those questions into a shared digital guide for the next generation of cottagers, that the whole family can keep adding to.
A Final Note
A long weekend is a little vacation hidden in your calendar.
